The Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse 3734/2 is a refined automatic iteration of one
of Patek Philippe’s most enduring designs. Originally introduced in 1968, the Golden
Ellipse was born of the manufacture’s pursuit of the divine proportion, a mathematical
ratio that gives the case its distinctive elongated oval shape, neither round nor
rectangular, that has remained instantly recognizable across more than five decades
of production. The reference 3734/2 is the integrated-bracelet automatic interpretation
produced in 18k yellow gold during the late 1970s and 1980s, and represents the 
dressier, daily-wear-ready expression of the model alongside the more formal solid-
gold mesh-bracelet variants. This example pairs the polished 18k yellow gold cushion-
edged ellipse case with a deep blue dial finished in the gilt-on-blue palette long
associated with Calatrava and Ellipse references of the period, the applied gold
baton hour markers, and the date display at 3 o’clock. The slim profile lets the
watch sit flat under a cuff, while the integrated gold bracelet flows directly from
the case in true 1970s integrated-design fashion. The dial-side date window keeps
