The Rolex Datejust 36 ref. 16013 represents the two-tone Datejust at its mid-1980s peak — a steel and yellow gold Oyster case paired with a yellow gold fluted bezel, the combination that defined the reference throughout its production run. This 1986 example carries one of the most sought-after dial variants of the era: the champagne linen dial, its crosshatch textile texture visible across the entire surface and shifting warmly under light. Gold applied baton hour markers and matching gold hands sit cleanly against that textured ground. The dial is signed "Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust" and carries the "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" designation, confirming COSC-level precision from the automatic Cal. 3035 movement within. A Cyclops lens magnifies the date display at three o'clock. The 36mm case wears the period-correct acrylic crystal, clearly visible in profile, with the characteristic dome that collectors associate with pre-sapphire Datejust references. The crown at three o'clock is yellow gold, engraved with the Rolex coronet. The two-tone Jubilee bracelet — steel center links flanked by yellow gold outer links — is the correct and original pairing for this reference, and it remains intact. Light scratching to the case flanks and caseback is consistent with nearly four decades of wear; the dial and bezel present well. Good with Rolex box and Rolex Service Card dated March 2026.
