The Rolex GMT-Master II 116710BLNR — known across the collecting world as the “Batman” — is the original blue-and-black Cerachrom ceramic bezel GMT-Master II, released at Baselworld 2013 and produced until 2019 when it was succeeded by the redesigned BLNR on a Jubilee bracelet. The 116710BLNR holds a singular distinction: it was the first GMT-Master II ever fitted with a bi-color ceramic bezel, the technically demanding two-tone Cerachrom that took Rolex years of metallurgy development to perfect. This 2016 example sits squarely in the middle of the original BLNR’s production window, on the Oyster bracelet that came standard with the early BLNR generation before the 2019 move to the Jubilee. The 40mm Oystersteel Oyster case is paired with the bidirectional rotating Cerachrom bezel — black on the 18-to-6 nighttime half, vibrant blue on the 6-to-18 daytime half — and the matching Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock safety clasp and Easylink 5mm extension. The glossy black dial features applied 18k white gold hour markers, Mercedes hands with long-duration Chromalight luminescence, the central 24-hour GMT hand, and the cyclops-magnified date at 3 o’clock. Powered by the in-house Rolex Caliber 3186 with blue Parachrom hairspring, the Batman delivers a 48-hour power reserve and Superlative Chronometer certification. Full set with Rolex box and papers.
