The Chronomat collection itself traces to 1984, when Breitling collaborated with the Italian Air Force’s Frecce Tricolori aerobatic team to develop a pilot’s chronograph, and the bidirectional ceramic rotating bezel with the four characteristic rider tabs at the cardinal points carries that aviation lineage directly forward into the modern Super Chronomat. The 44mm steel case is 14.45mm thick and water resistant to 200 meters, with the screw-down crown and screwed-down chronograph pushers. The blue chronograph dial carries matching blue sub-counters at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, the date aperture between 4 and 5 o’clock, and luminous baton hour markers and hands. Powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber B01 in-house self-winding chronograph movement, COSC chronometer certified, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour through 47 jewels with a 70-hour power reserve.
