The Cartier Roadster Chronograph 2618 is the automotive-inspired tonneau-cased chronograph that Cartier produced from 2002 to 2018, and the black dial configuration is among the most striking expressions of the reference, combining the curved tonneau case profile with a deep matte black dial under the model's signature scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The Roadster was launched in 2001 as Cartier's tribute to mid-century grand-touring sports cars, with a tonneau silhouette that recalls the dashboard chronographs of 1950s and 1960s Continental sports cars, paired with the streamlined integrated lug geometry that gives the case its forward-leaning visual posture.
