Examined to the movement.
The Panerai Luminor GMT reference PAM00088 is the discontinued automatic GMT interpretation of the classic Luminor case — a 44mm stainless steel cushion-cased traveler that served as one of the brand's primary dual-time references for over a decade before being retired in 2016 in favor of the in-house-powered PAM01088. The PAM00088 carries the patented locking crown-protector and 44mm case architecture that define the Luminor lineage, paired with a central 24-hour GMT hand for tracking a second time zone — the layout that established Panerai's place in the modern travel-watch conversation. The 44mm case is executed in stainless steel with a polished finish and measures 16.5mm thick, fitted with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a solid stainless steel screw-down caseback. The black dial carries luminous stick and Arabic numeral hour markers, luminous hands, a date window at 3 o'clock, and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 — with the central 24-hour hand sweeping the dial to display the second time zone in conjunction with the bidirectional date adjustment. Powering the watch is the Caliber OP VIII — an automatic self-winding mechanical movement with 21 jewels and a 42-hour power reserve, finished and assembled to Panerai's specifications. Water-resistant to 300 meters. A discontinued reference that remains a collector's cornerstone in the pre-manufacture Luminor era.
