Examined to the movement.
The Rolex Datejust reference 16233 is the long-running two-tone Rolesor evolution of Rolex's signature dress watch, produced from 1988 through the mid-2000s. This 1992 example captures the reference at its most classic: a 36mm Oyster case in stainless steel and 18k yellow gold, crowned by the fluted yellow gold bezel and presented on the five-piece Jubilee bracelet created for the Datejust in 1945. Its gold-tone dial echoes the warmth of the bezel and bracelet, with the date aperture magnified by the cyclops at three o'clock, a combination that has defined the two-tone Datejust as a benchmark of understated success for decades. The 16233 marked the maturation of the modern Datejust as the first generation to carry the celebrated Rolex Caliber 3135, a 31-jewel self-winding movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with quick-set date and roughly 48 hours of power reserve, widely considered one of the most reliable automatic calibers ever produced. Protected by a sapphire crystal and rated to 100m of water resistance, the reference wears elegantly across a wide range of wrists and remains a contemporary classic and a cornerstone of any collection. Pre-owned, dated 1992. Affirm financing available at checkout.
