Examined to the movement.
The Rolex GMT-Master II 126711CHNR — affectionately known as the "Root Beer" — marks the modern return of one of Rolex's most beloved two-tone configurations. Released in 2018 as the successor to the discontinued 16713 Root Beer, the 126711CHNR pairs Oystersteel with 18k Everose gold across the 40mm Oyster case and the matching two-tone Oyster bracelet, delivering a refined balance of strength and luxury that distinguishes it from the more austere all-steel GMT-Master II references. The standout feature is the bidirectional rotating bi-color Cerachrom ceramic bezel in black and brown, a technically demanding two-tone ceramic that took Rolex years to perfect after the original aluminum-bezel Root Beer was discontinued. The glossy black dial features applied 18k Everose gold hour markers, Mercedes hands with Chromalight luminescence, the central 24-hour GMT hand that defines the GMT-Master II's dual-time complication, and the cyclops-magnified date at 3 o'clock. Powered by the in-house Rolex Caliber 3285 automatic movement with the patented Chronergy escapement, paramagnetic Parachrom hairspring, and Paraflex shock absorbers, the 126711CHNR delivers a 70-hour power reserve and Superlative Chronometer certification to -2/+2 seconds per day. Screw-down Triplock crown and 100 meters of water resistance complete the package. 2021 production, with Rolex box and papers.
