Examined to the movement.
The Rolex Lady-Datejust ref. 179173 is the 26mm two-tone expression of Rolex's longest-running date watch, pairing an Oystersteel case with a yellow gold fluted bezel and matching yellow gold crown. Introduced as the direct successor to the ref. 69173, the 179173 ran through much of the 2000s and into the 2010s and remains the definitive small Datejust of its generation. This 2009 example wears a deep blue dial dressed with applied gold-tone baton hour markers and matching dauphine hands — a clean, high-contrast combination that reads clearly at any angle. The dial carries the full Rolex Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified designation, confirming COSC-level precision and Rolex's own in-house standard. A date aperture at three o'clock is magnified by the signature Cyclops lens. The 26mm Oyster case is compact and sits close to the wrist. Power comes from an automatic movement. The two-tone Jubilee bracelet — steel center links flanked by yellow gold outer links — is the natural companion to this configuration, and the photos confirm it is present and correct with a folding clasp. Very good with Rolex box, papers dated 2009, and Rolex wallet.
