Examined to the movement.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 14790ST is one of the most quietly significant references in the entire Royal Oak family, the mid-size 36mm steel automatic that bridged the original Genta-designed 5402 Jumbo and the modern 15202 Jumbo, and this 1992 Full Set example dates to the very first year of the reference's 1992 to 2006 production run. The 14790ST was the steel automatic Royal Oak of choice for an entire generation of enthusiasts in the 1990s, when the Jumbo was effectively dormant and the 14790 carried the original Genta architecture forward in slightly more wrist-friendly proportions. The 36mm Stainless Steel case is just 7.5mm thick, with the eight hexagonal screws on the octagonal bezel, the integrated tapered steel bracelet, and the alternating polished and satin finishing that define the Royal Oak language. The dial carries the classic Petite Tapisserie waffle texture with applied steel hour markers, the integrated Royal Oak hands, and the date window at 3 o'clock. Powered by the AP Caliber 2125, based on the celebrated Jaeger-LeCoultre 889 ebauche, in the first-year configuration that the early 14790s are most prized for.
